Fairbanks, USA
Greetings from the road less travelled.
So since i last wrote here the following epic journey and events have happened.
So we stayed in juneau and then we where going over to gustavus to go for a day trip to glacier bay. so we stayed at auke bay campground anywho it was the 17:th of june so we went down to the beach and guess what 5 mins later a pod of orcas apear swiming by at no more then 100-150 meters from the beach it was magic freaking awesome and as it where an early birthday present or atleast it felt that way ;)
The next day we went over to gustavus and had a look around we had dinner at a lodge cause hey it was my birthday and i could aford to and i got a muffin with a waterproof match as a birhtday cake :)
the next morning we went for a cruise up to glacier bay and among alot of great scernery we got to see some amazeing glaciers and wildlife includeing glacier bear cubs and 3 wolfs.....
then we flew back to juneau had 1 more night there and the last day we did a flightsieing over taku glacier and the juneau icefields, and for the first time in about 9 days we had sunshine it was amazeing ;)
then we took the ferry up to Haines and stayed a few days there.
then we hitchhiked our way from Haines via beaver creek to fairbanks and one of our rides had the same travelplan after fairbanks only he was going to anchorage first.
but anyway we stayed in fairbanks a few days went to the neigbouring city of north pole and had abit of a rest.
then our ride arrived and we went north into the wast wilderness that is the elliot and then the dalton highway incidently this road features in iceroad truckers....
after 3 days of awesome adventures and hellish mossie swarms we arrived to prudo bay or as the place is called deadhorse. and we went for a swim in the arctic ocean and i must say even thou it was a shock to the system it wasnt as cold as i would have thought.
then we worked our way south yet again it was an epic adventure and i dont know how to describe it in a good way so i wont even try.
anyway we arrived back in fairbanks yestoday evening late and today is the 4:th of july so america is closed down for independence day.
anyway the next destination is denali we shall see how we get there but i must say that hichhikeing is a rather fun way to travel.
i will have to invest in a teatowel thou i think ;)
cya of the beaten track ;)
