I'm back home again so here's my final update. After Amsterdam I spent some lovely days in Liège: I went to the cinema and watched a hilarious French movie, walked around in the city and also watched a theatre play by Alexandre Dumas. Very nice. I stayed at Annette's place (a friend of my family)
Greetings from Liège! I arrived last night and I'm staying with a friend to my family. We haven't met since I was last here for almost 20 years ago! Somehow it doesn't feel that long ago. She takes really good care of me and it's nice to speak French again. :) The past two days me and Katja have
I've now been in Holland for a couple of days. It's been great to catch up with Katja (Finland), Filipe (Portugal), Rick (Holland) and Rodger (Holland). We've all worked in Kandersteg in various seasons. We've walked around in the city (very modern and unusual architecture!), visited wind mills,
I'm heading out again. This time the destination is Benelux. My first stop will be in Holland where I'll meet up with some friends in Rotterdam and Amsterdam for some waffles, bikes, tulips and of course Queen's Day! My next stop will be Liège in Belgium. I'll stay a few days with some family
I arrived back home again earlier today. The train ride from Switzerland went fine but it was sad to leave everyone behind... :( The last few days have past quickly. I've spend three days indoors trying to recover from my cold, but I think I just managed to pass the cold on to everyone else! I
Hej hej! This week had past so quickly! On Sunday we had ski guide training all day where we tried the slopes in Kandersteg and were taught how to guide. It was a very nice day with the other helpers. On Monday the actual Ski Week started and I had a group of four British teenage Scouts who had
It's been snowing today. Finally! :) Hopefully it keeps snowing all night. *fingers crossed* KISC is now filled with British and American Scouts. Ski Week 9 starts tomorrow and I'm going to be one of the ski guides! *Yay* It feels good to be part of the staff team again. Today me and 10 other
Greetings from KISC again. :) I've been here a week now and it's great! No more mixed feelings. I now know the staff a lot better and it feels like home again. I've met more people from my season which has been really nice too. :) I've also noticed that there's a photo of me in the kitchen where
Greetings from Kandersteg! Going here by train all the way was great! Why haven't I done that before? There were not many people on the train so even though it was quite lonely, I had an entire compartment to myself! It felt a bit strange to come here after 4,5 years. Everything looked so
Hej hej! As some of you already know, I'm going to Switzerland tomorrow! As part of my final semester at the international master's programme in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science, I'm writing my thesis and for that I need to do fieldwork. I therefore thought that I might as well just
I'm heading out again. This time the destination is Benelux. My first stop will be in Holland where I'll meet up with some friends in Rotterdam and Amsterdam for some waffles, bikes, tulips and of course Queen's Day! My next stop will be Liège in Belgium. I'll stay a few days with some family friends to brush up my French before going to Brussels! There I'll meet up with an environmental consultant who will help me network in order to find a potential job or internship. I don't really know what's going to happen or what kind of people I will meet, but I'm very excited about this crazy opportunity! I hope you'll join me on my little train trip around Benelux! :)
I'm going back to Kandersteg to do fieldwork for my master's thesis in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science. I though I might as well combine two of the things I like the most: Scouting and Environment. So what better place than Kandersteg could I go to do my fieldwork? :)
I will visit class mates in Japan and Taiwan before heading off to my sis in Australia!
